Game On! The Guided Tour - Friday 13th August 2021
Description : During this special museum tour, our in-house gaming experts will guide you through the history of video games from the seventies to the modern day. Video games have progressed from simple black and white pixelated play to immersive epics that rival any blockbuster movie. But how did this happen?
The tour lasts around 30 minutes and provides an opportunity to discuss and even argue the merits and weaknesses of your favourite consoles and games!
The tour is free (although museum entry charges apply - £9 for adults, £6 for children, £7 for concessions and students, and £26 for a family ticket of two adults and two children). Museum staff will be on hand after the tour to locate specific games that you want to play from our archive of over 13,000 games. The tour starts at 2:30pm. Booking is currently required for all entries due to covid restrictions, and the booking will ensure your place on the tour. This booking is equivalent to an afternoon session ticket (13:45-17:00).
Snacks will be available from our Pac Lunch Shop. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE BOOKING. By booking, you are agreeing to comply with our current Covid-secure requirements, detailed on this page: What to expect when visiting during Covid-19. We request that all groups are limited to 6 people. We've done a huge amount of work to make the museum a COVID secure environment. We have installed 6 extra hand sanitising stations, created protective covers for our computers allowing us to wipe them down effectively, implemented a booking system and the NHS track and trace system, created 'bubble' zones and all whilst trying to keep the exhibition as interactive as we can. It is asked that every person aged over 16 in your group scans the Track & Trace QR code upon entry. If you do not have a device to do this with, please declare this at front desk on arrival and we will register your details manually. We do ask you to help us create a safe environment too. We ask that you wear a mask, sanitise your hands at each station, and socially distance from others, remaining in your social bubble throughout your visit. We really look forward to seeing you soon! Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
