Hewlett-Packard introduces the HP-35 calculator

On 4th January 1972, at a press conference at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, Hewlett-Packard announced the HP-35 calculator, the first handheld pocket scientific calculator. Designed to fit in a shirt pocket, the HP-35 was the first Hewlett-Packard product advertised directly to consumers.
