The V.Smile TV Learning System is an educational game system. It can take two controllers, and takes cartridges (called Smartridges) in the front. It also has a caddy on top of the machine for storing cartridges not in use. The controls and buttons are large to counter the low dexterity in younger hands. Notably, the controller can be adjusted so that the joystick is on the other side, for left-handed players. This is perhaps the first console to do this. There are several variants of the V.Smile console, including handheld machines, all of which take the same media and are fully backwards compatible. A more sophisticated version in the range was the V-Motion, which had motion controls. Other peripherals included a microphone and graphics tablet, and even a dance pad. The games themselves were mainly licensed from Disney and other famous children's franchises such as Thomas the Tank Engine, and Bob the Builder. This orange version came with a Winnie-the-Pooh game.
