Gaming in 2016-A Guide for Parents - 03 December 2016
Description : Everything you ever wanted to know about video games - but were afraid to ask! Are you struggling to keep an eye on your child's gaming habits? Have they asked for a game for Christmas, and you're unsure if it's suitable for them? Perhaps you're a keen gamer yourself, but are bewildered by the latest crazes sweeping through school playgrounds (why on earth is Pokémon GO so popular?) On Saturday 3rd December we'll be holding a talk to guide you through the state of gaming in 2016. We'll tell you about the hottest new releases and latest trends, provide a buyer's guide to the console market, and - most importantly - open the room for discussion on any topic you like. Our gaming experts will take up any issue, large or small. If you want to know whether Mario is cooler than Luigi, we'll answer that, but if you want to discuss online bullying or violence in games we'll tackle that one too. This talk will be fantastic for parents with children getting into gaming or anyone who's interested in learning more about this hugely important, but often maligned medium. It's more important than ever to have some understanding of the gaming world, particularly in the run-up to Christmas! The talk is free as part of your entry to the Centre, so you can enjoy a normal visit to the museum and attend this one-off event for no extra charge. We advise booking your tickets here to ensure your place, but spaces will be made available to people on the day if there are any available. The talk starts at 2pm and will last for around an hour. The Centre will be open as normal during the day. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
