WarGames Film Screening - 2 April 2016
Description : Join us for a night at the movies! As part of our brand new exhibition, Lights! Camera! Play! Games, Cinema and Everything In-between, we'll be screening the cult classic WarGames, often cited as one of the best cinema takes on the world of gaming. High school student David Lightman (Matthew Broderick) unwittingly hacks into a military supercomputer while searching for new video games. After starting a game of Global Thermonuclear War, Lightman leads the supercomputer to activate the nation's nuclear arsenal in response to his simulated threat as the Soviet Union. Once the clueless hacker comes to his senses, Lightman, with help from his girlfriend (Ally Sheedy), must find a way to alert the authorities to stop the onset of World War III.
All our usual exhibits will also be switched on for the evening including all the games and interactives in the new exhibition. Come along and play your favourite classics before and after the screening. The Centre will open for the evening at 6:00pm. The movie will start at 7:30pm and the Centre will remain open until 10pm. The Pac-Lunch shop will be open serving snacks and hot and cold drinks. Feel free to bring your own popcorn! Spaces are limited, so buy your tickets now!
