The IBM RISC System/6000 Model N40 was a PowerPC-based notebook developed and manufactured in conjunction with Tadpole Technology. It shares a number of similarities with the SPARCbook 3. The N40 was aimed towards the business user who required a top-range computer. It was powered by a 50MHz PowerPC 601, and had between 16 and 64MB RAM. It ran the UNIX-based operating system AIX.
