The Beta Systems SuperCharger is a hardware PC emulator for the Atari ST computer.

It is a small white box, containing an 8087 NEC-V20 with 1 Mb main memory, 8 MHz clock speed and a special chip set. The chip set made on the one hand a PC-compatible hardware environment available, and settled communication with the Atari ST/TT over the ACSI interface.

The Supercharger turned your Atari ST into a PC/XT compatible PC, whose keyboard, mouse and display were provided by the Atari. The screen displays were limited to CGA and Hercules. Storage was also provided by the Atari.

You could switch between DOS and TOS/GEM programs via a Hotkey.

Date : January 1990
