The SC/MP Introkit from National Semiconductor was a kit that allowed both microprocessor veterans, and newcomers, to build and exercise a viable microprocessor system. The kit was an aid to understanding the functions and capabilities of the SC/MP microprocessor. Using the kit, small programs could be developed and entered into memory via a teletype keyboard. The programs could then be executed and their operation monitored by the KITBUG program.

The kit included:

  • SC/MP microprocessor chip
  • 256 bytes of read/write memory (RAM) for storage of user programs
  • 512 bytes of pre-programmed read-only memory (ROM) containing a debug program and Teletype input/output routines
  • Interface circuitry to provide the level conversions and drive requirements for a serial input/output interface to a Teletype
  • Voltage regulator and crystal to meet the SC/MP power and timing requirements
  • Printed circuit board on which the components can be mounted

Manufacturer: National Semiconductor
Date: 1976
