Centre Software

Centre Software was a project based at the Research Centre for the Education of the Visually Handicapped (R.C.E.V.H.), University of Birmingham. The aim was to produce very low priced software for 'visually handicapped' youngsters, students and adults.

Centre Software was funded by a variety of sources, including the Royal National Institute for the Blind, and the University of Birmingham. This funding is reviewed at yearly intervals. The small amount of money derived from the sale of software was 'ploughed back' into the often expensive equipment urgently needed by the project.
