As part of a closer collaboration with Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College in Haverhill, the Centre for Computing History has developed a new ‘mini museum’ at the school.

Students at the college will now be able to experience hands-on interaction with computers from the 70s, 80s, and 90s as part of their ICT curriculum. Head of ICT at the school Gerry Gould said "The display is brilliant, the comments back from those who have seen it so far have been really, really positive. I'll be putting together a scheme of work which looks at how computing has impacted on society, and how it has developed from a "specialist" to a "consumer" product".

For the Centre for Computing History it means broadening our involvement with the younger generation and helping to fulfill the educational promise of this important collection, a key element of the Centre’s charitable remit.

Dr Lisa McGerty one of the Centre's trustees said "It is great to be able work closely with Samuel Ward, especially with its status as a technology college. We are hoping that the mini museum will become a permanent feature at the school and that it can be developed into a truly useful and unique resource for the young people there. Maybe other schools might even be able to make use of it as well".
