pretive-execution facility of the Sy5tem/370 extended architecture (370-XA). The interpretive-execution facility improves the efficiency with which a specialized component of a control program can oversee the execution of programs in a virtualmachine environment. Execution of these programs is achieved through a combina tion of capabilities provided by the CPU while it is in the interpretiveexecution mode and services supplied by supporting programs.
