Eco Project Spoken Word Event - Sunday 1st of June 2025
Description : Join us for an unforgettable day where history, technology, and poetry collide! As part of our Broken Tech, Broken Earth project, we're inviting you to explore the emotional weight of our digital past through the power of spoken word. This special event transforms the Centre for Computing History's collection into a stage for voices that reflect on our relationship with technology—its failures, its futures, and its impact on the planet. We will be organising performances with prizes up for grabs for families and anyone interested in participating. The best poems will also be displayed as part of our collection in the museum! Expect raw emotion, thoughtful reflection, and community creativity as we reimagine our tech through rhythm, rhyme, and rebellion. 🗓 Date: 01/06/2025 🕖 Time: 10am-5pm 📍 Location: The Centre for Computing History, Cambridge 🎟 Tickets: £2 entry tickets for everyone, only for the first 50 sold online! Whether you're a poet —or just curious—this is an invitation to bring your friends and family to see computing history through a different lens! The project is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association. The exciting initiative will engage the local community in exploring the environmental and social impacts of the tech boom. Suitable for all the family. The museum will still have all its usual exhibits available to enjoy. To make this event as accessible as possible we are making just a small charge for tickets. Please buy a ticket for every person, whether adult or child, who wishes to attend. Tickets include access to the museum for the whole day.
Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
