The 40th Anniversary of the ARM 1 Chip - Saturday 26th April 2025
Description : Come and help us celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Arm 1 RISC chip! At 3pm on 26th April 1985, the chip that led to the world's first commercial RISC processor powered up... and changed the world. Hear pioneers Sophie Wilson, Steve Furber and others talk about that iconic moment, try out some coding for yourself and explore our new exhibition celebrating the achievements of the company that became ARM. Speakers begin at 10.30am, with Sophie Wilson and Steve Furber speaking from 2pm. The event is free (although museum entry charges apply - £12 for adults, £8 for children, £10 for concessions and students, £25 for a family ticket of one adult and two children, and £32 for a family ticket of two adults and two children). The ticket includes entry to the museum for the whole day. Please note that children 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult. We expect this event to be popular so please book ahead to avoid disappointment. *This event is being filmed - please make yourself known to the organisers on arrival if you do not want to be on camera.* Date: Saturday 26th April 2025, 10am - 5pm Snacks will be available from our Pac-lunch shop.
