Made in Japan Weekend - 12th & 13th April 2025

Description :

A Celebration of Japanese Technology, Creativity and Innovation.

Its cherry blossom season in Japan - so we're choosing this time to celebrate Japanese technology. Come and see our weekend exhibition celebrating the wide reaching influence Japan has had on computing and gaming - from the consoles of Nintendo, Sony and Sega to the computers of Fujitsu, Epson and NEC - and not forgetting the games of Capcom, Taito and Bandai.

Expect to see some PC Engine and Neo Geo machines, plenty of unusual Sega and Nintendo hardware, and go back in time to Epoch's consoles such as the Cassette Vision and Super Cassette Vision.

Have you heard of rarer machines such as the Toshiba Pasopia 7, or the Bandai Playdia? These and others like them will be available to use, along with Casio's ventures in the console world, the PV-1000 and Loopy consoles, as well as their not often seen Home Micros.

For the true Japanese entertainment experience, we will have out our Pachinko Arcade Machine, and the museum will be showing a collection of Japanese business machines.

We would love to have you exhibiting with us here. If you have anything amazing from Japan that you think people would love to see, please contact us at activities@computinghistory.org.uk

No need to book to attend this event, normal admission prices apply.

Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum!
