Wake Up with the micro:bit - Monday 17th February 2025
Description : We need an extra prod to wake up on cold, dark mornings! Making it digital and something you have programmed will be even more cool (at least you won't be irritated when it won't let you sleep in!). Come and learn how to code the micro:bit to become a light-sensitive wake-up alarm. Put it under a lamp with a timer and you're all good to go! No previous experience is required, just an interest in making tech do cool things! The session is aimed at children aged between 8 and 12 and is ideal for upper Key Stage 2 and early Key Stage 3 students. Please note that this is a beginner's workshop and provides a great introduction to the micro:bit. This workshop session is priced at £16 per participant and includes entry to the museum all day! For participants aged 14 or under, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £12 and include entry all day. Please note that we will be using our classroom kits for the session and you will not be able to take these away at the end. We will however have micro:bit kits available for sale in our shop to purchase. Date: Monday 17th February 2025
Time: 3 pm - 4:30 pm This workshop will start at 3pm promptly, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately.
