Manufactured by Datawise MT Digit, this is an early fingerprint reader, from the Windows '95 era. Plugs in through the parallel port and minimum system requirements were a 486-33DX or higher and 12Mb memory.

The Datawise MT Digit used to be an accurate, affordable fingerprint reader for secure NT Server, NT Workstation, and Windows 95, PC System access. Aimed at both the corporate network and home desktop, the MT Digit authenticates users access using proven biometric technology, raising the bar of data access security. With access granted in typically less than 2 seconds, the MT Digit does away with the hassles involved in remembering and keying in passwords.
