This electronic calculator was released by Sinclair Radionics in early 1978 and was one of the last calculators produced by the company. It was also Sinclair's first and only calculator not to be made in England, and was assembled in Hong Kong by Radofin. The boards inside the calculator are marked Radofin rather than Sinclair. The calculator is slightly larger than its predecessors, intended for desktop use rather than being readily portable. The screen used is an eight-digit vacuum fluorescent display and the system requires two AA batteries to power. The functions included are addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication, as well as percentage, memory, square root, and square. This example in our collection was donated by Chris Wilding, who is a former employee of Sinclair Radionics. There are a couple of stickers on the back of the calculator that suggest it was possibly a development model.
