Virata Ballpoint Pen

Virata was a software and semiconductor company which was founded in Cambridge in 1993 as a spin out company from the Olivetti Research Laboratory. It changed its name from ATM Ltd in 1998, and the company moved away from developing ATM technology to developing fabless semiconductors.

In May 2001 they opened a new European headquarters in the Cambridge Science Park. The new building of 2,884 sq. metres (31,000sq ft) provided space for over 90 staff, 3 lab areas (Chip Lab, Hardware Lab and Systems Test Lab) and a customer training suite. It also had a boardroom with a table in the shape of a "V" and a presenter's podium in the shape of the "dot" over the "i" in the Virata logo.

This ballpoint pen is presented in a case with sleeve.
