Launch title for the Nintendo 64 in the UK. The game is set alongside the events of The Empire Strikes Back, and stars Dash Rendar, the bodyguard of Luke Skywalker, who is set on a separate quest to free Han Solo from the clutches of Boba Fett. While he escapes from Hoth and travels to various locations track down the elusive bounty hunter, he uncovers a plot by the shadowy gangster Prince Xizor, to kill Darth Vader, and take his place at the Emperer's side. Mixing vehicle action with third person 3D gameplay, the game was an impressive technical demonstration of what the Nintendo 64 was capable of. The sprawling levels were linear, but captured the atmosphere of the films perfectly. The game was also released on PC
