A creative writing program incorporating a picture editor, a text editor, a spelling checker and a word processor. 'Frankie's House' is a creative writing computer program for children in the upper part of Key Stage 2 and the lower part of Key Stage 3. The picture editor and the text editor allows pupils to create their own pictures and write and edit stories about Frankie's House [and check their spelling, too!]. These activities could be appropriate for older children too, including in the area of special needs. Once they have used these aspects of the program, the pupils can progress to the use of the straight-forward word processor included in the program. 'Frankie's House' is thus designed to increase pupils' computer literacy as well as developing their creative picture making and writing skills.
