61856 LEO I Test Rack (1950)

Description of Photograph

Digital copy of a photograph of a LEO I test rack installed in the 'calculator room' at Cadby Hall.

Caption:  'A test rack for testing and powering up newly made units. [ms] 20/6/50'

This image appears in the interactive plan for our Virtual LEO I installation, p65.

Research comments: This image offers a good sense of the Cadby Hall room as the workshop it was. As individual units were built in one corner of the room, they were tested in this rack before being added to the machine. The basic frame for the units is visible in the foreground and glass valves can be seen on the unit to the very corner at the bottom left of the image. (LM)
