DEC releases the PDP-7
November 1964 The Programmed Data Processor-7 (PDP-7) was a multipurpose digital computer designed for engineering and scientific use in laboratories and communication centers. Created by DEC, it was the third of their 18-bit machines, along with the PDP-4 and the PDP-9. In November 1964, DEC began delivering the first PDP-7 production units to customers.
