Konrad Zuse patents fundamental ideas for Z1
11th April 1936 On the 11th April 1936, German engineer Konrad Zuse files a patent (#Z23139/GMD Nr. 005/021) with the translated title "Method of automatic execution of calculations with the aid of computers". The patent describes a programmable device with memory containing permanently stored and modifiable data.
