The Getty caption states 'Calculating the wages for the staff of J Lyons and Co using an electronic calculator which looks just like a typewriter. The machine produces the information punched out on to a tape. Original Publication: Picture Post - 7580 - Electronic Brain - unpub.' Judging by the shelving structure behind the woman, we believe this photograph may have been taken in the data prep area of the calculator (LEO 1) room at Cadby Hall.
