Undated general letter explaining the late delivery of scheduled BBC Microcomputers. Date : Circa 1981Creator : Peter Goater Format : A4 Letter Physical Description : 1 A4 Page Transcript : Dear Customer, We are writing once more to bring you up to date with the progress of production on the BBC Microcomputer System. As you may know, we have been experiencing some problems in achieving an acceptably high yield in the volume production of a particular integrated circuit, and this has been delaying deliveries. Up to the time of our last letter to you, we had identified the problem and developed a strategy for dealing with it, but we will not know for certain until the end of January whether we can then achieve our full production rate. If all goes well, we hope to clear the outstanding orders for the machine by the end of March. Orders will be dealt with in the priority and chronological order already established. If, as we offered in our original letter to you, you wish to cancel your order and receive a refund, perhaps you will let us know as a matter of urgency in a letter marked 'REFUND' on the envelope. With many apologies for the inconvenience caused by this further delay. Yours faithfully, Peter Goater General Manager This exhibit has a reference ID of CH55059.
