Pamphlet produced by the Management Consultants Association to assist office managers with purchasing a computer and automating processes in their workplace.
"Prices, including the necessary ancillary equipment, vary from approximately £25,000 to £250,000 and more".

Researcher comments: States that there are over 100 machines delivered or on order for business purposes in the UK.

In the section entitled 'What They Will Do For Business', it is suggested that computers will reduce clerical costs, provide better and faster information and help solve business problems by using mathematical techniques. "If a computer cannot justify itself through one - or a combination - of these three ways, it is unlikely to justify itself at all".

On page 6 the document states that "At least two years are likely to elapse - and many more man years of work will be involved - before a computer is finally installed." (LM)
