The Case For The First Business Computer
Article by Nick Pelling (2002) analysing the business cases behind the five proposals made to the board of J. Lyons & Co. by T.R. Thompson and O. Standingford in 1947 - which led to the construction of the first business computer. The proposals are found to be strategically lacking.
