Scott + Sons, 9 Arundel St, London,W.C.2 23 Nov 1948 Dear Sirs, I am interested the post advertised in Nature for Nov 20 under Box 372, and would be glad of further details. I took a first class in Physics Part II in Cambridge in 1940, and have had five years experience at T.R.E. [Telecommunications Research Establishment, formerly Air Ministry Research Establishment] and three years research in the Cavendish in the Radio Section, working on Ultrasonics. I believe my qualifications might fit me in other respects for the post. I am 29. Before leaving T.R.E. I had had charge of a small group for over a year, and wide experience of a variety of circuits. I also had the responsibility for getting several pieces of equipment mass-produced by the radio industry after prototyping. Yours faithfully, J.M.M. Pinkerton.
