Marketed by Apple as the first 64 Bit desk top computer, It was also the first desktop computer from Apple to use an anodised alluminion alloy enclosure, and one of only two computers in Apple's lineup to utilize the Power PC 970 CPU, the other being the iMac G5.
Introduced in June 2003, the range was finally discontinued in August 2006.
