Fast paced and extraordinarily difficult side on shoot em up, it is the sequel to Pulstar. Particularly impressive with the amount of scenery that can be shot away and the the large ships to destroy.

It also has some wonderfully inventive end of level bosses, that require a lot of thought to destroy.

All the usual types of power ups can be collected in the R-Type styl of play, add on pods for the ship, missiles and extra shields.

It is an unusually large cart at 346MB, mainly due to some brief CGI cut scenes

 

Neo Geo MVS cartridges are designed to be plugged into the arcade system, either by way of a jamma board or the official arcade machine.

The cartridges can be used on the home AES system, if an adapter is used, this can be very benificial as by and large, the MVS carts cost a fraction of the Home system ones, at the expense of not having anything more than a basic cardboard sleeve, as opposed to the large AES cases and coloured sleeves.
