This interface is a speech synthesizer designed to assist the visually impaired when using a computer. It has a headphone socket and BBC Din port on the left side, 36-way Centronix parallel port on rear, and a power supply port on the right side. It accepts a 6-9V centre negative power supply which would charge the internal rechargeable Ni-Cad battery if present.

The underside has a Dolphin sticker, a serial number sticker of 0805, and a battery door for a PP3 battery.

The top has a speaker grille, a left dial for on/off-volume, and the right hand dial is for pitch.

The speed setting can be set internally from 1200 to 9600 baud. The manual states needs to be set to 1200 for use with a Microwriter. It could be used with the software Talking Wordwise.

The headphone socket can also be used for cassette recording purposes.

We also have the user guide and BBC cable.
