Monotype Library of Postscript Typefaces provided Postscript Language Type 1 Fonts, in this case the Bembo typeface. PostScript (PS) is a page description language which is dynamically typed, concatenative programming languageused in the electronic publishing and desktop publishing business. It was created at Adobe Systems by John Warnock, Charles Geschke, Doug Brotz, Ed Taft and Bill Paxton from 1982 to 1984. Bembo PS was created by the British branch of the Monotype Corporation. Bembo is a serif typeface designed in 1928–1929 and most commonly used for body text. The Bembo design was named after notable the Venetian poet, Cardinal, and literary theorist of the 16th century Pietro Bembo. The typeface originally used to publish Pietro Bembo’s book “De Aetna”. This package was intended for use with the Adobe Type Manager as commonly used on the Apple Macintosh and included Screen Fonts and Printer Fonts.
