This promotional book, produced by IBM in 1974, introduces the subject of computing for beginners. From the preface: 'In this little book, we try to remove some of the noise that may block understanding of the digital computer and its use. The computer is based on simple concepts, so we have tried to talk about it simply. We briefly describe how electronic digital computers work, where they come from, and what they are good for. If we have succeeded in any small degree to clear a path to understanding the computer, we will have made at least part of today a little less confusing and at least part of tomorrow a little easier to see.'
