Gory launch title for the Wii U, putting the new gamepad to good use to target enemies and as your characters survival kit. The game polarized both gamers and reviewers, some loved the atmosphere and gameplay style, while others hated the game's main mechanic which has you sent back to the start of a level with a new character when you die, seeking out the zombie of your old character to retrieve all items collected up to that point, very similar to what had been used in Demon and Dark Souls with no such criticism. Ubisoft were very supportive of the Wii U for the first couple of years, making most of their big franchises available to it.
