With support for applications such as AltaVista Search, firewall and tunnel products, and Netscape SuiteSpot, the Compaq AlphaServer DS20 server provided a good foundation for a comprehenisve intranet infrastructure. It tied together internal resources to access data quickly, enabled the management and sharing of that data outside corporate walls, and connected remote satellite offices, customers, and suppliers.
