The Oak Recorder 3 is a low cost, high quality sound sampler for Acorn's Archimedes, A4, and Risc PC computers. The interface plugs into the parallel printer port of the computer and does not take up a podule slot. A socket on the interface allows connection to the microphone (included) or to other sound sources such as a hi-fi or CD player. The SoundLab software supplied with the Oak Recorder 3 allows 8-bit samples to be recorded at a standard rate of 20KHz with higher sampling rates up to 32KHz available on the more powerful Acorn machines.
