The Spaceball 2003 is a 3D trackball that allows six-degrees-of-freedom. It allows users to pan, zoom and rotate 3D models quickly and easily as they build, modify and inspect their designs. It was released by Spacetec IMC Ltd in 1991, and later rebranded for IBM and HP. It features eight programmable buttons and a hardware zeroing button (button 8). There is also a button integrated into the forward face of the ball.

The 2003 draws more power than the serial port can provide, so has a custom cable which allows for an external power supply.
