This full-keyboard, direct action calculator is in the "comptometer" style, and dates from the 1950s-60s. The LC at the beginning of the model number stands for London Computator Corporation. The 9 denotes that it is a full keyboard (up to number 9), and the 12 denotes the 12 columns of keys. The S stands for Sterling currency. The London Computator Corporation, Limited, was formed in 1940 by Bell Punch to deal with the sales side of the Plus and Sumlock machines. London Computator Corporation Ltd. was renamed Sumlock Limited in 1950. In 1960 they bought the British parts of the Comptometer Corporation (what remained of Felt & Tarrant) and became Sumlock Comptometer Ltd in 1961. This also allowed them to officially call their calculators comptometers. This appears to be an early model due to the style of the keys and the casing.
