Published December 1988: Issue 1 Part number 0483,710 This guide introduces you to the Acorn R140 Workstation using the RISC iX operating system. RISC iX is Acorn's version of Berkeley 4.3BSD UNIX, with enhancements including NFS (Network File System) and the X Window System. The guide describes how to install, configure and get started with your workstation. You don't need to know much about computers and you don't need to know anything at all about UNIX before you start reading this guide. This publication is not a tutorial about the RISC iX operating system. To find out more about RISC iX, read the companion guide to this volume, the RISC iX User Guide.
