This Sterling currency Addometer is a mechanical calculator designed to work in pounds, shillings, pence, and farthings. The eight wheels are turned with a pen tip; each revolution causes the next wheel to advance one place. In this way addition and subtraction of Sterling currency is accomplished.

The Addometer was made by the American company, the Reliable Typewriter and Adding Machine Co., Chicago, Illinois, and was distributed in England by Taylor's of Chancery Lane. Decimal versions of the Addometer were available, as well as imperial measurements such as feet and inches.

Manufacturer: Taylors
