A launch title for the Nintendo 64, Super Mario 64 was a brand new way to experience the Mushroom Kingdom as this was the first fully 3D entry in the Super Mario series.
Utilising the Nintendo 64 controller's analogue stick, players were free to move Mario in a fully 3D environment, explore Princess Peach's castle and the mysterious paintings throughout, in order to collect power stars and rescue her from the clutches of King Bowser.
Mario was also given a whole host of new abilities never seen before, such a long jump, punches, kicks and a diving slide to name a few. Players must use all of these if they wish to collect all 120 power stars hidden in the game.
