Faithful version of the Namco arcade machine, which should need no introduction. A maze game where Pac Man must be guided around a maze collected pills, and avoiding 4 ghosts, power pills larger than the others can be collected which make the ghosts turn blue and are vulnerable to be eaten by Pac Man for a short while. As the levels progress this time shortens. When all the pills are gone from the screen the level ends. Pac Man has 3 lives before the game ends. There are bonus items that can be picked up for score such as cherries. Both the arcade and Famicom versions were huge hits in Japan, and are frequently found on retro compilations. Many variations of the game and updates have appeared over the years.
