The SR-50 was Texas Instruments' first scientific pocket calculator with trigonometric and logarithm functions. It was released in January 1974. It competed alongside Hewlett-Packard's HP-35 for a cheaper price. The SR-50 included factorial and hyperbolic trig functions, which featured in very few calculators at the time, including the HP-35. The SR-50 used ordinary infix notation, rather than reverse Polish notation used by the HP-35. The SR-50 had a 10+2 digit LED display. It was powered by a rechargeable NiCad battery pack, which was built from three soldered AA batteries. It featured Texas Instruments' TMC0501 and TMC0521 integrated circuits.
