Verran AC Datalink through-the-mains computer connection. Computing without cabling
Verran Electronics Ltd of Basingstoke gave the following details in an introductory letter:
"A remarkable new device, it totally eliminates the spaghetti junction of costly
computer cabling required to connect PCs to printers, plotters, modems, and terminals to minicomputers. Instead, it uses the invisible cabling that already exists in your building
- the electricity mains. As a result, you can connect any PC to any peripheral by simply plugging one AC
DataLink into the PC, and another into the peripheral. The signal is carried through the mains, and appears at the peripheral, with no compatibility problems whatsoever. In fact, you can connect several PCs to one peripheral, several terminals to one mini.
The result is a more cost-effective use of all your existing peripherals - and in many circumstances, no necessity to buy new ones. The brochure I enclose tells you all about the AC DataLink, and the many uses to which it can be put - saving time, saving money, saving inconvenience.
