Alien 8 is a game by software house "Ultimate Play the Game". There was much anticipation for the next Ultimate game after the success of the jaw dropping Knight Lore, and at first it seemed they had just taken the engine of the game and added a future theme to them, the magazine letter pages at the time were filled with disgruntled players bemoaning how similar the two games were, I was not one of them, as this title is far more balanced, the traps fairer, and the task of saving the astronauts a far more fun and satisfying one. The general feeling of the reviews at the time was a truly excellent game, but maybe Ultimate would have to try something different next time round. This isometric view would be used one more time a year later in Pentagram.
