This is a package that contains three sections: Monohybrid, Dihybrid and Chromosome Monohybrid: This program simulates a monohybrid cross (a cross between two organisms heterozygous for a single character), it generates batches of twelve offspring at a time and calculates the ratio of cumulative dominants to recessives after each batch has been generated. Dihybrid: This program simulates a dihybrid cross (a cross between two organisms heterozygous for two characters, each character carried on a different chromosome) and shows independent assortment. Chromosome: This is made up of five programs, file names CHROMO1-5. CHROMO1-4 simulate the parents and their offspring in a series of 11 different crosses of fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster. CHROMO5 adopts a different approach where one character at a time out of a list of four can be observed, two of which are sex linked.
