Space Track is a science learning program designed to give children ages 9 - 14 years a basic understanding of our solar system and introduce them to the idea of computer programming in a real-life context. The user has to program a spaceship to fly fro Earth to another moving planet, avoiding an asteroid belt and other hazards. A simple animated model of the Solar System is included so that the problems of plotting a course from one moving object to another can be better appreciated. The serious educational objectives of this simulation do not detract from its appeal as a challenging game which uses sound and full colour graphics. It should provide an enjoyable learning situation for children of a wide range of ages and abilities.
