This is in the form of a guessing game intended to familiarise pupils with the reactions met in chemical analysis at 4th and 5th year level. A compound is chosen at random from a list of twenty four and the results of a series of simple chemical tests are given. Additional tests can be chosen by number. The pupil then guesses the identity of the compound and is awarded a score based on the number of guesses taken and the additional tests needed. An explanation of the chemistry involved follows, and then another compound is chosen. Pupils can use the program individually or the teacher can 'talk through' the tests with a group of pupils and let them draw their own conclusions. A specimen worksheet is provided thus allowing results to be recorded for later analysis.
