This was on release considered one of the killer apps for the Atari 8 Bit computer, and it put the company in a bit of dilemma. Their Atari 2600 was considered by the company as the company's games machine, and the computer was supposed to be aimed at the home business market. But the top piece of software for the machine was not one of the many office pieces of software, was is a game, which despite the huge success of the title and the revenue created, did undermine the 8Bit line's ambitions in the business market place. The game itself is is a space combat shooter, with a lot of elements that would be found in later games such as Elite. The player is in a space craft viewed in first person, with a forward and rear camera to track the action, control can be viewed in most angles, with lasers being fired forward. A map screen can be brought up, and a target area with enemy craft selected. The player can then warp to that area and engage the enemy. The first task is to catch them with a boost, then when near enough fire at them, while avoiding their incoming fire. Once all the grids in the map are clear of enemies, it is onto the next zone.
