The cover of this issue of Byte (volume 6, number 4) is an April fool relating to the issue's Editorial piece. It says: "Future Computers" is our cover theme this month and the subject of the editorial. Before you write to comment on our cover's "unusual" design approach (created by artist Robert Tinney), keep in mind the proximity of April 1."
The editorial covers Toshiba's pocket sized TV, the Osborne 1 and the arrival of 3.5" floppy disks ("miniature" floppy-disks that measure 8.9 cm (3.5 inches) in diameter, hold "over 800,000 bytes" and reside "in a rigid housing for protection"), i.e. they're not floppy.
